Every year, millions of New Jerseyans flock to Newark’s Branch Brook Park to check out the stunning cherry blossom trees that pepper 360 acres of parkland in Essex County. When Joyce and Nector suggested we do Branch Brook Park engagement photos, I smiled because it gave me a chance to enjoy a few hours at a local treasure and it helps that the park is about five minutes from my home.
Spend just a few minutes with Nector and Joyce and its easy to see just how much in love they are. When I asked the two to walk through a long corridor of trees for some pseudo candid photos, Nector stopped every few feet to pick up a branch that might cause Joyce to stumble. When I would ask them to kiss and cuddle, I had to encourage Nector not to eat Joyce whole. These two are definitely a match that’s destined to last.
Joyce and Nector also threw a curve ball at me. This was the first time I had a couple that shared a “better side.” When Joyce told me this, I almost dismissed her comment as a joke. Then I looked at the preview screen on my camera and couldn’t help but laugh — she was completely right. To make everyone happy, we swapped positions every now and again so both Joyce and Nector had a chance to let their good sides shine.
